Widening Access at the University Of Strathclyde Dr Veena OHalloran, Director of Student Experience and Enhancement Services Dr Stephanie Mckendry, Widening Access Manager The Place of Useful Learning Widening Participation is core Strathclydes mission and identity We are committed to providing access from the widest possible range of backgrounds, to improving retention and ensuring success. Almost 1,000 SIMD 0-40 entrants have been admitted to study at Strathclyde this

year - 25% higher than the 2010-11 baseline year. We are delighted and proud that half of our SIMD 0-40 entrants are from SIMD 020 areas A distinctive approach At Strathclyde widening participation encompasses all aspects of underrepresentation, with the aim of removing obstacles and encouraging achievement by making HE attainable for all sections of society
